Conflict Transformation and Management Center

SHATIL's Conflict Transformation and Management Center (CTMC,) harnesses conflict energy and strategically transforms it into positive change through: TRAINING NGOs to manage conflicts as they pursue their goals, CONSULTING to organizations that struggle with internal staff conflicts and conflicts with the establishment, INTERVENING in sectors of civil society engaged in conflict to avoid escalation, NETWORKING with organizations dedicated to nonviolent conflict management, and RAISING AWARENESS among decision-makers and policy-makers about successful conflict management tools-both in Israel and abroad.

SHATIL's CTMC:
Works to improve Arab-Jewish relations: dealing with repercussions of the "Future Vision" document by working closely with both communities. While the document had the potential to upset minority-majority relations between the Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel, CTMC aided authors in creating opportunities for dialogue and joint-thinking.

Brought leading conflict expert, Johann Galtung to Israel to train a group of Israeli NGO directors in conflict management and transformation techniques.

Consults organizations embedded in conflict on the Constructive Struggle model. The Constructive Struggle model, as opposed to destructive struggle, attempts to restrain escalation, search for common goals, and preserve positive elements in relationships.
