Assistance to Organizations of Immigrants from the FSU
Did you know...

...In the last 15 years, nearly one million people have immigrated to Israel from the countries of the Former Soviet Union (FSU). An immigration of this size, amounting to over a sixth of the existing population, inevitably leads to friction and conflict.
Immigrants from the FSU leads Israel's FSU immigrant community to greater social and political participation and raises consciousness amongst policy makers about the continued challenges facing FSU immigrants.
Shatil's Assistance to Organizations of Immigrants from the FSU:
• Launched Back from the Edge: Strengthening Immigrant Youth at Risk involving the participation of some 300 FSU teens, parents and educators. The three-year pilot project has the potential to encourage sweeping changes to Israel's present intervention on behalf of immigrant teens-at-risk.
• Assisted in the publication of more than 400 Russian-language news articles and features in 2007 alone!
• Galvanizes students into social action through Training Social Entrepreneurs for FSU Students
• Works jointly with the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, providing immigrant organizations with meaningful and practical tools for the full range of organizational needs from fundraising to financial management.

Shatil gave me energy. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you all. I've become the residents committee in my building. I got all the residents together and we cleaned. We repaired the roof. I feel I've got strength."
