SHATIL International

Shatil continues to gain international recognition for its innovative work, having received Consultative Status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in August 2007. This highly prestigious status is further to Shatil's 2005 recognition accorded to nongovernmental organizations that advance issues of interest to the UN by the Department of Public Information.

Thanks to Shatil's expertise in training, consultation and coalition-buiding, a variety of international organizations have turned to Shatil for capacity-building assistance in the fields of human rights, social and economic justice, women's rights and building civil society.

Shatil shared its experience with NGOs from emerging democracies by:

  • Organizing and participating in international conferences
  • Creating training manuals in organizational and resource development and
  • conflict management
  • Training trainers and support centers to teach capacity-building skills

  • Sharing information on how to build, facilitate and manage coalitions
