SHATIL's Equalizing Education for the Negev Bedouin utilizes a multi-level, holistic strategy.  Through targeting vital voices in the Bedouin community—parents, women, educational professionals and youth—SHATIL augments the impact of their efforts towards sustainable change in their educational system.  In tandem, SHATIL's systematic advocacy efforts directs the needs of the Bedouin community right to the top echelons of the government—demanding the educational rights they are guaranteed by law, but are all too often denied.  In 2008, SHATIL will build upon past successes, including a landmark Supreme Court decision on nutrition in schools, to grow and bolster the influence of the Bedouin community in improving the state of education in both recognized and unrecognized villages .
